Definition: Ohm’s law and variceal bleeding

While Ohm’s law is usually applied to circuitry, it is also relevant to variceal bleeding where pressure equals flow x resistance.  The larger the radius and thinner the wall of the varix, the higher the chance for rupture and bleeding; this is the concept behind band ligation.
