Definition: HELLP Syndrome

HELLP Syndrome (Hemolytic anemia-haptoglobin,LDH; Elevated LFT- AST and ALT > 40 IU/L; Low Platelets- plt < 150,000) is a serious microangiopathic complication of pre-eclampsia and occurs in the third trimester of pregnancy.
