We all belong to one or other of two groups, the leiodermic, with nice, soft, woolly skins, on which the pinpricks of life, though felt, make no serious impression: and the algedermic, with raw, painful skins, which every rough contact irritates.  Unfortunately, it is very much a matter of temperment or inheritance, but from the start it makes a great difference if you are not too sensitive, not too ready to react to the irritations of life.
