Definition: hepatic sarcoid

Hepatic sarcoid can occur in form of granulomatous disease and should be suspected if the alkaline phosphatase (+/- aminotransferase) is elevated.  Treatment is generally not indicated and should be reserved for those with symptomatic pulmonary or extensive systemic illness.
